Who Am I
My name is Ava Fails. I am a mid-life crisis in full swing fueled by caffeine. Writer, dabbling artist, and wannabe somebody with a million ideas and no direction. I entertain interest in a range of topics including, but not limited to: conspiracy theories, writing, art, the Bible, Internet Marketing, cryptocurrency, online tools, design, DIY, crafts, upcycling, journaling, self-publishing, book-making, and so much more!
Currently, I work from home as a Virtual Assistant specializing in WordPress, Social Media, problem-solving, cost-effective solutions, newsletters, email marketing, writing, and more!
The “more” is the boring part that would make this podcast much too long.
I got started in Internet Marketing in early 2006. I was living in Las Vegas at the time. I was born and raised in North Carolina, but I lived in Las Vegas between 2004 and 2009.
In early 2006, I quit a job that I felt had some unethical practices going on. I found myself with a lot of time to kill, so I went online to job hunt. I came across Digital Point forums, which was one of many Internet Marketing forums, and I learned that you could make money from the Internet.
Even though I’d been online for nearly 10 years at the point, it never dawned on me that the Internet was a place where I could make money. Like TV, I saw it as a place where only the big players like Coca-Cola, Oreo, etc. could advertise.
At that point a light came on.
Shortly thereafter, I made my first few dollars online as a freelance writer. The rest is history!
What’s In It For You?
Well, I know things about stuff, and I have the shirt to prove it. More than that, I want to help you! This show is all about dropping knowledge. In the decade plus that I’ve been a student of Internet Marketing, I’ve seen a lot of things and acquired a lot of knowledge.
That, by itself, is unremarkable.
What is remarkable is the unique set of skills that I’ve gained over that time period. Because I’m…thrifty cheap, I know how to accomplish a lot of things online at little to no cost. For example, I can get you online with your own WordPress website and dot com domain today for less than $20. I think that’s pretty cheap. Of course, I’m not the only with that knowledge, but I consider knowing how to do things for less a SKILL.
The less money you pay to build, run, and maintain your business, the more money you have in your pocket at the end of the day.
The Top 2 Lessons I’ve Learned About Internet Marketing
- Success is the exception, not the rule.
There are thousands of so-called “gurus” online out there who want to sell you their particular brand of doing business or their “method” to “make money online”. What they NEVER tell you is that 98% of the people who buy their method never make a dime using it.
Their true method is lining their pockets with your money. They are good salesmen. That is their “method”. You need not bother complaining if you don’t make money either. You obviously “don’t have the passion”, or “you didn’t implement their method correctly”. - You need to create multiple income streams.
I challenge you to find a successful entrepreneur who doesn’t have multiple income streams. I have multiple income streams. As I said earlier, I do Virtual Assisting. That feeds me and pays the bills. I have a second income stream in my self-published books where I receive a consistent monthly income from Amazon.Having a side hustle these days is huge. Everyone is looking for multiple ways to make money. If you’re listening to this podcast, you’re probably looking to diversify your income streams as well.
BONUS
I have a bonus third lesson for you:
You have to spend money to make money.
I’m sure I’m not the first person you’ve heard that from, but I’m here to confirm that it’s true. In fact, you are probably spending money to make money right now. Do you own a car? You spend money on gas, insurance, car payment, and more to have that vehicle take you back and forth to work. If you don’t own a car, you might use public transportation: the subway or the bus. That costs money. You are spending money to go to work and make money.
There are a lot of scams on the Internet and that’s why working online comes with somewhat of a stigma. You must understand the difference between paying to make money online, and investing in your business online.
That’s what The Candid Cashflow Podcast is all about: helping you establish cash flow so you can give life to your dreams. If you need help getting those first few investment dollars, stay tuned, subscribe, and get ready my friends!
